Two Commercial Airlines to Start Using Biofuel Blends

On November 7, 2011 United Airlines flew the first-ever commercial flight using a biofuel blend, using biofuel and traditional jet fuel. They also announced that they plan to purchase 20 million gallons of biofuel per year to use in their jets. Alaska Airlines is also planning to schedule two domestic flights using a biofuel blend.
