New Fuel Economy Standards by 2025

According to the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), by 2025 all cars and light-duty trucks will be required to meet performance equivalents of 54.5 miles per gallon. This new requirement will cut the U.S.’s oil consumption by an estimated 2.2 million barrels per day. It will also save the average family an estimated $8,200 in fuel costs over the lifetime of a vehicle. To read the entire publication posted by the DOE click here.
